True Foundations Program: How I Partner With You to Build Lasting Relief

As women, we are told what to think, how to behave, how we should dress, how to raise our children, even how to practice our religion and spirituality to be seen as “good.” Because of that conditioning, we often bump up against what we think we should do and what we actually want to do. That internal conflict can create disconnection, dis‑ease, in the body that can show up as burnout, weight gain, hair loss, anxiety, and yes, chronic illness.

Add in endometriosis, then perimenopause and it becomes a trifecta of confusion, expectations, and disappointments.

Eventually, you start to feel like your body no longer belongs to you because you stop trusting it to do what you want it to.

Endometriosis is already a chronic neuroinflammatory, hormone‑dependent condition. Perimenopause adds fluctuating hormones, increased inflammation, worsening pain, sleep disruption, mood instability, and metabolic shifts. Research shows that hormonal fluctuations during perimenopause can amplify pain sensitivity and inflammatory responses, making endometriosis symptoms more intense and unpredictable.

This isn’t just hormones or period pain,  but your body trying to navigate major physiological and psychological storms at once.

And you don’t need me adding to the confusion by telling you what to do. Most women already know a lot, but are often drowning in expectations and need help sorting it so it finally makes sense for their body and their life, not anyone else’s.

It’s important for perimenopausal endo women to understand that you have power to create change that can have long lasting relief, even greater resilience (because women with endo already have some resilience), and helps set you up for the life you really want to get back to.

I believe that creating a strong foundation for your healing is paramount to getting that long lasting relief in this stage of life where pain and symptoms seem more uncontrollable and intense, especially if the way you’ve been treating endometriosis for years no longer works the way it used to.

Imagine buying a new house and after the excitement of moving in, your neighborhood experiences an unexpected catastrophic storm. Devastating by itself, but because your house was built with strong scaffolding and materials, yours was one of the few left standing after the storm moved through the area, and now you are able to help others who weren’t as prepared. That’s what it means to build a strong foundation.

In my program, True Foundations, you start building this very foundation through a partnership with me.

In True Foundations, a partnership looks like me walking beside you, not in front of you, while guiding, supporting, challenging, and holding you accountable with respect, dignity, and zero judgment. Because this partnership is led by you, your values, and your desires and in how you want to build your strong foundation and get reconnected to your body and life.

The 5 Core Pillars of True Foundations (Backed by Research)

These pillars are the evidence‑supported basics your body needs to calm inflammation, regulate hormones, and build resilience during the endometriosis‑perimenopause transition.

1. Stress Resilience: Your Non‑Negotiable

Chronic stress keeps the body in fight‑or‑flight, driving inflammation and disrupting hormones. Research shows that stress increases inflammatory proteins and worsens pain perception, especially in hormone‑related conditions.

Perimenopause already increases cortisol (a hormone released when the body is under prolonged stress) reactivity. Endometriosis already increases inflammation. Together? They create a constant stress cycle.

Stress resilience isn’t about eliminating stress, but about strengthening your nervous system so your body stops living like it’s under attack.

This pillar helps you to build and strengthen your ability to handle stress and minimize it where it makes sense for your life by:

  • reducing unnecessary stress

  • finding ways to buffer your main stressors

  • building tools in a simple multi-level system so you learn to use the tool needed for the level of stress you’re experiencing

These tools will allow you to feel more energized, less anxiety, and more in control

2. Movement & Exercise: Lubricating the System

Many of us often sit too much and don’t move our bodies enough on a regular basis, especially for prolonged periods when in pain and very symptomatic. Unfortunately, this can increase pain and stiffness in our bodies.

Movement supports joint lubrication, muscle elasticity, lymphatic flow, and hormone regulation. Studies show that regular physical activity reduces systemic inflammation and improves pain tolerance.

During perimenopause, movement also supports metabolic stability and can reduce stress.

But, exercise and movement are not quite the same. Exercise is generally a 1 or 2 time activity you do in a day that is usually structured, may require equipment or a gym and for a specific time whereas movement is what your body is designed to do often during the day and doesn’t require any special equipment, time or specific place. Exercise and movement look different for each and every woman. This pillar is about:

  • consistency over intensity

  • movement that supports your capacity

  • honoring your body instead of punishing it

  • finding the right exercise and movement regimen for you

3. Nourishment (Non‑Food): Joy, Connection, Nature

Research consistently shows that social support, laughter, and time in nature reduce stress hormones, improve immune function, and lower inflammation.

This pillar reminds you that nourishment isn’t just about food. It’s about what fills your soul:

  • joy

  • laughter

  • connection

  • nature

  • community

These are powerful ways to “feed” your body that ease stress, regulate your nervous system, and help you feel less alone in your healing.

Together, we examine and strengthen these elements of nourishment to help you layer more supportive structures onto your foundation.

4. Nutrition & Detox: Calming the Internal Fire

We already know endometriosis is a chronic neuroinflammatory condition so one of the best ways to help calm it is with anti‑inflammatory foods and detoxing which have been shown to remove excess estrogens, reduce pain and improve symptoms.

Perimenopause adds metabolic shifts, increased inflammation, and heightened sensitivity to blood sugar fluctuations making nutrition even more essential now.

This pillar focuses on:

  • adding anti‑inflammatory foods

  • supporting natural detox pathways

  • reducing exposure to endocrine‑disrupting chemicals (xenoestrogens) that worsen estrogen dominance and pain

This isn’t dieting or about perfection. This is simply a way to reduce the inflammation overload of perimenopausal endo. What we do together is the work of understanding your current eating regimen, how to improve what you’re already doing, creating more healthy food habits, and how to work with your practitioner on a detox plan.

5. Sleep & Rest: Where Healing Happens

Perimenopausal endo can wreck your sleep between the inflammation and hormone cascade. Sleep and rest are two different, but equally critical pieces of the healing journey so you need both. Poor sleep increases pain sensitivity, cortisol levels, and inflammatory markers. Constantly moving or going without rest tells your nervous system and body it is not safe so when it’s not safe, healing slows down.

Sleep is where hormone regulation, tissue repair, detox, and inflammation reduction occur. Rest allows your nervous system to pause and is a reset for your body so it can get relief from the doing of daily life and allows you to focus on being present with your body

This pillar honors sleep and rest as medicine by:

  • strengthening your sleep hygiene

  • putting all of the pillars together in a simple workable plan based on your real life responsibilities to help improve your sleep

  • adding and improving sleep and rest without having to rework your entire life

Why Foundation Work Matters (Especially Now)

Most women want a quick fix; anything to get out of pain fast which is understandable, but without a strong foundation, relief is inconsistent and short‑lived.

Research supports integrative, foundation‑based approaches—stress regulation, movement, nutrition, sleep, and environmental awareness—as essential for improving endometriosis symptoms and perimenopausal transitions.

True Foundations helps you:

  • naturally support hormone balance

  • reduce inflammation

  • regulate your nervous system

  • reconnect with your body

  • create long‑term, sustainable change

This is the groundwork most programs skip or skim over and one of the reasons so many women struggle to find consistent relief. These 5 pillars are the very foundation I’ve been using for myself, strengthening them even more as perimenopause kicked in hard. It’s what allowed me to be able to get back into one of the things I enjoy, hiking.

CLIENT LOVE:

I have been into every program you can name and have been unsuccessful, but what was different this time was working with Waqiah, being consistent, and really trying and putting my best foot forward. She really helped me reset my life because I was overweight, had high BP, and was diabetic. I would say right now this is probably the most healthy I’ve been my entire life and I was even able to get off one of my diabetes medications. —Fleeta B.

FAQs:

“I’m worried about the time commitment.”

You’re already spending time managing pain, exhaustion, and frustration. This program is customized to your life and capacity so I work with you at the level you are at right now. What this program isn’t is a quick-fix. Long-lasting healing takes time and consistency, but perfection is not necessary.

“I’ve tried programs before. They didn’t work.”

Most programs focus on chasing single symptoms with food, supplements, and exercise without addressing the full hormone‑inflammation‑gut-nervous system connection that the True Foundations Program addresses. I’m also a strong believer in partnership. Partnerships only work if all parties involved do the work, so what you put into your healing is what you will get in return.

True Foundations is:

  • client‑led meaning you choose where you start and how you want to move through this program, coach‑guided meaning I walk beside you, address things to consider, keep the sessions flowing, or bring you back to your goals, but it’s your decision from there

  • deeply individualized

  • built around your lived experience

Will this program heal me?

Healing is a nuanced word. There are many things that influence healing such as what your personal definition of healing is, your effort and capacity to heal, emotional and mental growth, and more. Also, you are the architect of your healing with community support and guidance when you need it. Instead, I am the facilitator who specializes in behavior and lifestyle change. When you start creating the change you need in an effortful way, it helps you to improve your health and wellbeing overall. With that said, when you follow the 5 Pillars of True Foundations Program, you will see positive changes that will set you up for healing success. Remember, this program is not a quick fix, but a setup for a lifetime journey to wellness.

I have setbacks constantly in my endo journey, will that change in your program?

Setbacks are an inevitable part of change because change and healing are not linear. Instead, you will have setbacks that will challenge you and make you feel like you want to give up. You will also experience forward momentum that makes you feel like things are finally getting better. Both will happen on your healing journey even if you do everything correctly because the reality is that perimenopausal endo is already a complex disease which is aggravated by hormonal fluctuations. These peaks and valleys can occur from a number of stressors to the body such as toxins in our environment, a death in the family, a move, a new job, a change in eating habits, etc. This is why creating a solid foundation is so important because when you have setbacks, they won’t feel so devastating.

“What makes your program unique?”

  • individualized one‑on‑one care

  • a partner who understands perimenopausal endometriosis

  • strong emphasis on foundation work that addresses the hormone-inflammation-stress connection

  • collaboration model instead of me simply telling you what to do as in a sports coaching model

  • my style of partnership is about showing you what needs to be seen with compassion, empathy, and creating empowerment

You don’t need more rules. You need clarity, guidance, and a structure that honors your reality.
