Healing Shouldn’t Cost a Fortune

pile of money because healing shouldn't cost a fortune

Pile of money

Not everything on your healing journey has to cost a fortune and honestly, it shouldn’t.

You already know the financial weight of living with endometriosis and navigating perimenopause. The cost of HRT, endo excision surgery, specialists, supplements, pelvic floor PT, and the endless parade of “maybe this will help” add‑ons can feel like a second full‑time job. And then there are the luxury wellness tools like infrared saunas, float tanks, red‑light therapy, cryotherapy, and IV drips which are all marketed as the missing piece to your healing.

But here’s the truth your nervous system has been waiting to hear:

You don’t have to buy your way out of pain. Your healing foundation is built on things that cost nothing and they’re often the most powerful tools you have.

The Financial Reality of Endo + Perimenopause

After 2 excision surgeries, endless supplements, changing my lifestyle and entire way of eating, endo was under control or so I thought, until I hit perimenopause, then it took a different turn. The pain amped up, the symptoms like nerve pain, weaker muscles, and achy joints made me feel like I was starting my endo journey from scratch. I was ready to try anything else to help with my pain. The cost of it all was staggering and I was struggling to keep up with the financial strain of it all. That’s when I realized that living with endometriosis in perimenopause is expensive, not because you’re doing anything wrong, but because the system wasn’t built with you in mind.

  • Endometriosis excision surgery — often out-of-network, costing thousands even with insurance

  • Hormone therapy — ongoing prescriptions, follow-ups, and lab work

  • Pelvic floor therapy — essential but pricey

  • Supplements — magnesium, omega‑3s, adaptogens, probiotics, and more

  • Alternative therapies — acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, somatic work

And then there’s the “wellness pressure”; the idea that if you’re not doing the most expensive, cutting-edge treatment, you’re not doing enough. Know that you are doing enough. And your body doesn’t need luxury to heal, but it does needs consistency, safety, and support.

Why You Want Relief Fast And Why That’s Human

When you’re dealing with:

  • pelvic pain that steals your sleep

  • hormonal swings that make you feel like you’re living in someone else’s body

  • fatigue that hits like a brick wall

  • bloating, brain fog, night sweats, mood shifts

…it makes sense that you want the quickest fix possible.

You’re not “impatient.” You’re exhausted. You’re trying to get your life back.

But here’s the part most people don’t tell you:

Quick fixes with expensive tools can reduce symptoms, but they rarely create long-lasting change without a strong foundation underneath and they can’t replace the basics your body is literally designed to respond to.

The Free (and Powerful) Foundations of Healing

These are the things that regulate your hormones, calm inflammation, support your nervous system, and help your body feel safe enough to heal, and they cost nothing.

1. Spending Time in Nature

Nature is one of the most underrated anti-inflammatory tools. It lowers cortisol, reduces pain perception, and helps regulate your nervous system.

A 10-minute walk. Sitting under a tree. Breathing fresh air. It counts.

2. Sunlight

Sunlight is a hormonal reset button.

It supports:

  • circadian rhythm

  • mood regulation

  • vitamin D production

  • inflammation reduction

Morning sun is especially powerful — even 5 minutes.

3. Rest

Rest is not laziness, it’s biology and necessary for you to reset.

Inflammation drops when you slow down. Your nervous system recalibrates. Your hormones stabilize.

Rest is medicine. And it’s free.

4. Movement that doesn’t cost a membership

You don’t need a gym to move your body.

  • walking

  • stretching

  • dancing in your living room

  • bodyweight strength

  • gentle yoga

  • mobility work

Movement reduces pain, improves circulation, and supports hormone balance without a monthly fee.

5. Listening to your body

This is the most important tool you have.

Your body will tell you:

  • when something feels supportive

  • when something feels too intense

  • when a new treatment isn’t right

  • when you need rest

  • when you’re pushing too hard

Listening to your body costs nothing, but it saves you money, energy, and unnecessary suffering.

Build the Basics First, Then Add What You Need

There’s nothing wrong with trying infrared saunas, float pools, red-light therapy, or supplements. They can be helpful. They can be supportive. They can be part of your healing.

But they’re add-ons, not foundations.

Strengthen the free basics first, then layer in the paid tools intentionally, not out of desperation.

This is how you create healing that lasts. This is how you stop chasing the next fix. This is how you reclaim your power.
